P3 install solar panels in Czech Republic

WARSAW  24.02.2010|  POINTPARK PROPERTIES INSTALL SOLAR PANELS IN CZECH REPUBLIC

PointPark Properties (P3), one of the leading international developers and asset managers of modern logistics parks in Europe, announced signing the deal  with solar park operator SolOps to rent the roofs of its distribution halls. The P3 PointPark Prague D1 and PointPark Prague D8 distribution parks in the Czech Republic would provide the 335,000 sqm of roof space. The total capacity of the photovoltaic energy (PVE) generated will exceed 7 MWh, ranking this installation as one of the largest of its kind in Central Europe.  PointPark Properties now has additional resources to improve and expand the existing parks and provide clients with energy at a lower cost.  Most importantly, the logistics areas will be energy self-sufficient and P3 will become another company that is actively working towards the development of environmental issues.  SolOps, which is renting the roofs and operating the PVE system, will invest about 600 million CZK in the project. The entire PVE system is expected to be operational in Q2 of 2010.  It will be a modern, fully automated system including online diagnostics and operations information.

The benefits of PVE for the environment are clear. Solar electricity plants are made up of materials which are essentially all recyclable including components like silicon, glass, aluminum, etc. which can be reused after they are no longer useful at the plant.

PointPark Properties is actively committed to seeking sources of alternative renewable energy and this has become one of the priorities of the company.  The company found a partner in SolOps who could fully implement the project.
